Coaching is a form of confidential dialogue in which the Coachee's concrete objectives and strategies for realization are jointly elaborated. The way of coaching - either working with task-focussed topics or rather with psychological elements - will depend on the objectives you want to achieve using coaching.

Since China Consultancy's coaching is systemic and process- oriented
(see: References / Trainers, Consultants and Coaches) it is suitable for a variety of topics related to individual and cross-cultural cooperation. For example: difficulties concerning work in cross-cultural teams, in cross-cultural conflicts, in situations of professional or private radical change or in times of crisis.

Team Coaching

Teams are like marriages: a range of factors hold the group together, ensure functionable cooperation, whereas another range of factors drive the group apart and continually keep throwing little spanners in the works. How about the cooperation of your team?!

Well-aimed team development measures are able to enhance your team's cooperation to a large extend, especially in cross-cultural contexts

Conflict-Coaching
"Ok, that's enough - I have had it!"

In conflicts the channels of perception of the conflicting parties narrow, alternative patterns of behaviour and communication are no longer adequately used. In conflict mangagement both sides jointly work on their differences with the support of a conflict manager or mediator (see: Conflict Management) .

If a joint  conflict resolution with the partner is not possible or not wanted, conflict coaching offers the possibility to work on adequate personal strategies for dealing with the conflict. In this way you can relieve the strain and regain the freedom to give new momentum in seemingly stuck situations.

Coaching in Situations of radical Change
"Damned, I really don't know if I'm coming or going!"

Do you know that scenario? In professional and | or private situations of radical change, suddenly everyhthing seems to be more than you can cope with. You can do whatever you want - nonetheless, people around you react with lack of understanding, unhappyness, pressure and discontent.

Coaching in situations of radical change helps to more clearly sort out your visions, objectives, priorities and limits and makes shure you'll act accordingly. In a joint dialogue you'll receive the support needed to calmly and securely steer your boat through rough weather.

Crisis and Coaching

Situations of crisis are marked by the fact that long-established and proven patterns of behaviour are no longer effective to their ends, undermining the personal feeling of identity. But long-proven patterns of behaviour in important areas of one's life do not have to be the best patterns of behaviour any longer. Things change! So "going on like before"  often leads to frustration, enstrangement and self-doubt.

Coaching in a situation of crisis helps to track down blocking patterns of behaviour and communication and supports you in establishing alternative approaches. Ways are opened to calm life's waves down and enable you to take decisions as the captain of your life.

As a rule, synchronized coachings are carried out 3-5 months after beginning work in the target region. They offer the chance to discuss the experiences made in the target region, to bring up difficulties and jointly work on approaches to solution.

Returnee's Coaching
"Hey cool, now I am back home again. Was it worth the while?"

Experience shows that the transition from a post abroad back to your home environment is often more difficult to make than initially anticipated. This is not only due to the so called "returnee's shock" but lies within the expectations that the returnee will integrate him- or herself swiftly to the old and known environment: after all, you are dealing with your home country again!

Nontheless, this renewed challenge for (re-)adaptation often takes place under considerable time pressure: after just having departed from the country once so new to you, having organized your family and yourself, soon private and professionel new challenges are calling on you in your home country. Hereby dealing with what you experienced abroad is put off, diffusely postponed without a phase of conscious exploration and reflection.
